Is magic wand too aggressive to buy DW for 1st toy (that I am aware of anyway), and what about attachments? The reviews on amaz...c o m are quite interesting as I read them. we are mid 30's, together 9 yrs. she is little bashful. also, too loud for kids sleeping in the room next to ours? sorry rookie here.

Welcome to the board, True.

I have the wand, and I do think it would be overwhelming as a first toy. It's a great toy with some great attachments, definitely my current favorite, but I think it's too intense for a first toy.

A toy that many people try and continue to love is a pocket rocket. I've not tried one of those, but I've heard a lot of great things about them here. Rabbits are a lot of fun too.

What other types of toys have you considered?

As someone new to toys (my choice) I LOVE my bullet vibe! I like my rabbit too but it can look a bit intimidating to a newbie. I think basic and unintimidating is best. I just got this one in the mail http://www.passionshop.com/Candy-Cane-Waterproof-7-Inch-Vibrator-nov230817.html

I would say yes, start with something a little less powerful, Pocket rocket, Rabbit, or bullets, maybe just a slim vibe.
