Alergic reaction?

I'm sure I'm not the first woman to have this problem but I seem to have a bit of a reaction to the smartballs I use for pelvic muscle exercise's, funny thing is I've had them for a while but after not using them for a few weeks I used them about a week ago then had mild thrush like symptoms, didn't make the connection silly me. I used them again last night and today the same problem, then I realised what was triggering the reaction. I am a sensitive little soul and get reactions to many things. I'm wondering now what ones I buy that are less likely to cause this reaction? Any advice?

Thanks for any help

I'm sure you're not the first woman to experience this problem either, and despite the best efforts at making them "allergen free", I think there are always going to be things in plastic products that someone, somewhere is going to have a reaction to. I would think the metal ben wa balls would be less likely to cause such a reaction, depending on what metal they're made of and your own sensitivity (do you have difficulties with earrings, for example?).

I do that was one reason I went with the synthitic to begin with, I am alergic to silver can only wear gold, I can wear pewter I have learned. But I do believe that most people who alergic to silver are actually alergic to the nickel that is in it not the actual silver.

Good to see you here, Willow.

It is possible that you're having an allergic reaction to the material they're made from, but it's also possible that you're having an allergic reaction to the cleaning agent that you're using on them.

Any chance you can try a different cleaner, make sure it's rinsed very well, or run them through the dishwasher?

Hi Misty, thanks for the reply.

My first concern to begin with was the cleaning agent being sensitive as I am. I make sure after cleaning that I rinse thoroughly in hot water and store in pouch. Then I rinse again before using them so I don't think this is the problem.

My guess is I've formed an alergy to the material that there made from.
