It's not a sex doll, but a Fleshlight would be cool.

why not get something you can use together? we recently subscribed to bedroom chemist and it literally is like a "present" that comes to your house every month (we got the 6 month subscription but you can get a 1 time if you want). it has couple-friendly sex toys so you can have fun together on his birthday!

Has he suggested a sex doll specifically?

I agree with this poster....for sex dolls you can either go with a cheap blow up or a Real Doll that costs thousands...there really isn't a great middle ground.

It might be ok if he's talked about it, but it could backfire on you. He may take it as you want him to "do" the doll and leave you alone. If you introduce the doll as a "third party" into your sex life, it might be kinky and fun. Just to say, "here's a doll, do her" would make me think "she doesn't want to do me". That's IMHO.
The Fleshlight suggestion makes better sense and since it's an item you could participate in, he would not feel you are just putting him off.
