Congratulations on your first step, and welcome to the board, Kearneyl!

You know your DH better than I, but I hope he's not the type to get jealous over a piece of plastic. If you think that he will, here's an article that you might find helpful:

Sex Toys Are Win-Win: A Guide for Men
http://love.ivillage.com/lnssex/sextaboos/0,,traceycox_8jmprmrf,00.html

My DH actually bought me my first sex toy as a gift. It took me a while to warm up, but it's been a fantastic journey since then! We enjoy using the toys together equally as much as I enjoy them during solo play. It's great, because when I do use them during solo time, my mind often wanders to some of the special times we have shared with them as well.

You can do a search on the board by typing terms in the "find messages about" box beneath the board title. There have been many discussions on here about specific toys, as well as storage ideas.

If you're comfortable telling, I would love to hear what you purchased for your first try!

Welcome.

And yes, it is fun to let one's inhibitions go.

And this bunch (and most on these sex boards) are nosy bunch -- we want details. Whatcha buy???

A&E will remove your name from the mailing list quickly, but you may still end up getting a slew of catalogs in the mail before the change kicks in. I don't know if it's like this everywhere, but here in AL their products and catalogs tend to ship in nondescript packaging so nobody really knows what's inside.

Oh ... the texture on that looks like a lot of fun!

If you do end up using in the water, make sure you take the battery cap off and let it all air dry before storing. I had a similar toy die on me before I learned that I needed to do that :(

You're welcome - the catalogs have things on the front that aren't meant for general viewing, lol, so I'm sure it's just better all the way around to have them in an envelope, lol.
