Ladies, when you buy a toy for yourself,

do you look for one or have you bought one that is larger than your SO's member? If so, in what way is is larger and was it a good idea to get it? What did it do or not for you?

As I told in a nearby thread, I recently purchased a glass dildo for my wife that is the same size as me. Should I have bought one that was larger, maybe even much, much larger? Opinions please.

I firmly believe that bigger isn't always better. DH bought me a realistic dildo a few years back and the sales lady helped him pick it out. She recommended starting with something that wasn't too large ~ I can't imagine that I would want this to be any larger.

It was both thicker and longer than DH. It's fun to use, but I think I would use it more if it were a bit smaller. I have to pay too much attention to how deep it goes, have to make sure I have plenty of lube, etc. It's also made of a lifelike material -- can't imagine using something firm, like glass, if it was this large. There's no give in that stuff, and I would probably end up bruised inside.

I'll attempt to answer for my DW, keeping in mind that she's never actually bought a toy for herself (I've bought them for her, or we've purchased them together), but I'm fairly certain her answer would be "no". She's commented in the past that I'm the largest man she's ever been with, and that anything larger would be uncomfortable for her. My wife is not the type to mince words in order to spare my ego, so I'm inclined to believe her on that. I also know that here are positions (doggy, for example), where I have to restrain my enthusiasm in order to not bottom out on her cervix, which is definitely not something that she experiences as good pain.

The other answer would be that every woman is different, and that the best person to ask would be your wife. Size queens do exist, and their answer to this would likely to be different than my DW's or that of most of the women here. Unless your DW has given you any indication of such a preference in the past, though, I'd hazard a guess that the answer is still "no".

My third thought is that, from everything I've heard, to the extent that size does matter, girth is more important than length.

Finally, when it comes to glass dildos, the things that we like about them are the things that make them different from an actual penis — the curves, swirls, lumps and bumps, and their ability to be chilled or heated prior to insertion (I'm sorry, but she is just not sticking my penis in a glass of either ice water or boiling water prior to having sex).

I value your opinion fearless leader. And I will consult you and a few others on any other toys I buy in the future.

ROTFLMAO - no Steve, we don't want you injured in anyway.

DW is not a size queen and that is why I was asking. As far as I know I've never hit her bottom so I have no idea how much length should could take. And at our age, more girth could be a problem too. The old elasticity may no longer be there.

Like Misty - I value your opinion and I appreciate you feedback. You provided several good points for me to ponder. Thanks Steve.

ROFLMAO!!!!!

Now, tell us if you prefer sticking your penis inside of her (after the glass dildo has done it's work) to the hot or the cold feeling left behind?

I prefer the cold. It's a similar sensation to the ice cube BJ that Tish described.
