here is gross one, but i'm sure you guys get all sorts of stuff here LOL. Whenever I have my period, I get very horney, just for that week, when I am done with my period, it's back to not wanting any sex, for a while, my husband gets frustrated with that, but I really can't help it. I was wondering if this is normal, for some people? I have gotten my hormones checked before, when i was 25, and they were all normal, they said there is nothing wrong with me, yet why do I get horney only at that time of month??? Any other time i don't even think about sex. My husband thinks I have a hormone problem because don't hormones get higher during your period, and you pms and stuff??? If that is the case, how do I bring this up to a gynecologist?? I really want a normal sex life. by the way I am 28 years old. Thanks

Oh yes so very normal!!! By the last two days of my period I am climbing the walls...I can't even watch my soaps!Really though you should talk to your DR. I know it is hard I had to talk to mine about no sex drive when I was 30. I looked at him and said I don't want to have sex and my husband wants it all the time...he was quiet and then I asked well do men just want it all the time...is that all you guys think about???He blushed really bad and said let's change your pill. That worked and then I had my 2nd baby and got my tubes tied and I am 32 with a sex drive almost as equal to dh's...Thank God...maaybe while you are horny you could "help out" your dh...I love to do that...GRAPHIC>>>if you wear a tampon and not a pad you certainly could masturbate together, now that is a good time!!!!Let me know how talking to the dr goes...you just have to say it.Good luck! Emily.

That's not gross. My drive is high to begin with but during my period it is through the roof. I'm begging DH to have sex with me. He isn't cool with that so it's bj week for us. Don't get Joel started on period sex!!! LOL! I have no problems discussing sex with my doctors. They've heard it all. Just a couple of weeks ago I had mine check my clitoris during my pap!! LOL. It's normal BTW. I've discusssed everything from positions to vibrators with her. Just go for it. They don't care.

Are you on BC? If so, that seems to really bring your libido down, at least it did mine. For probably 8 years I never really wanted sex and after I went off BC - my libido shot through the roof! Now, I feel like all I want to do is have sex, or some version thereof!LOL

Anyway, as far as the rest - your normal, or we all seem to think you're as normal as the rest of us!LOL Perhaps we are all "abnormal!"LOL You have to remember that during your cycle your hormones are all over the board. So doesn't it just figure that we get more "horny" at that time of the month! I'd say its someone's fun joke on us all!LOL

Talk to your gyn to make you feel better - that's what they are there for. I can't tell you how many questions I have asked mine! He expects it, well at least from me! It helps!

I don't use Birth Control at all, and I haven't since I was 25 years old, my husband got snipped, I still think my hormones are whacked, because this is not fair!! My husband will not have intercourse with me, during that time of month, and by the time it'sover and done with my libido is low again!!! UGH!!!

oh and to add i am not on antidepressants either, and haven't been on them in a year thankfully.

My hormones this past summer were really whacked, i ended up having sore breasts for two months, the last month, they were so sore no one not even I could touch them, I definately went to the doctors they did a pregnancy test and I wasn't pregnant, but then again the doctor was a biotch herself, and was like oh grow up! i hope i never see her again, old bastard. Anyhow, she did give me evening primerose tablets, and i took them and within two weeks, my breasts were fine again, and everything went back to normal. Also, i think, and have looked this up, it's possible i could be going through perimenopause, it's not uncommon in my family for women to go through this, my Aunt started menopause at 30 years old, and no she never had a hysterectomy, she is now in her 50's and completely done. My Mom went through it at age 35, and is now 48 and done with menopause, my grandmother went through it at 32 and was done, ages ago as well. So, in my family women start it very early, but my doctor refuses to believe it may happening to me. I on the other hand have experienced hot flashes and night sweats, those are horrible to deal with, and i hope none of you experience them yourself. plus, my metabolism isn't that great, I am not overweight, but have gained a few pounds, and now i have to work at it, to lose weight, and I'm 28 years old. that's what I am figuring.

Doesn't surprise me at all. My doctor last year told me about perimenopause and I'm 32. He wanted me to be aware b/c it can happen very early in some women. He said that some women can go through this stage for 10 years before starting the next stage. Your body changes, hormones, everything. So, if your family history shows that you guys go through it early - then listen to your history. Perhaps do a little research on the internet about it.

Also, find a doctor that you like and trust. It's so important to have a gyno who is understanding. Hang in there and if you don't feel better in a month - find another doctor and go to him/her and find out what he/she has to say!

There's actually this new thingamajig called a Soft Cup, also known by the name brand of Instead. It's a soft cup that fits over your cervix during your period and catches all the blood, so you can have sex without any mess. It's a genius thing, and most drugstores carry it now.
