Ok...some you know my DD#1 is getting married in Aug this year.

It will be a causal wedding, Sunday dress clothes.

As the mother of bride-do I have to wear a dress??

Or can I wear a nice suit, coat and pants??

I have been “told” that I should wear a dress BUT

Im not a dress gal! I only have 2 dresses in my closet right now.

So what should I do???

Me, personally, I don't think you need to wear a dress. If it's Sunday casuals, then a nice pant suit would be nice.

Tough call. You might need to ask if an alternative would be OK and discuss further.

Given that it's "her" day I would say that her wishes should be respected if they aren't terribly unreasonable.

It August. I don;t care for the idea of a pant suit.

Could we compromise with a nice skirt and blouse?

My DD is ok with me wearing pants and coat. she wants me to wear what I want...its "others" that told me "you have to wear a dress"

I have a coat, shirt and skirt, Plus I have the pants and shirt to go with it....

BTW--Others are friends. DH and other DD said what I want is fine!

I dont even like to wear skirts! to me they are dresses! LOL!

If the DD who is bride is OK with pants and coat then it's problem solved. Even better the DH and other DD are happy too.
