Sex is a huge part of my marrige, but we have a two year old. My Husband just changed jobs to where night time is now not too good for us, any tips on being able to have a 'good time' with him without our child coming in and everthing being over before anything realy starts ?

I hear you on it being difficult with kids. We have two school age kids and their bedrooms are right across the hall from ours. So at night we have to be quite for fear of waking them.

As far as your situation is concerned, how about getting a lock on your bedroom door... we just bought one for ours :) We also recently used the master bathroom counter as it was the only room with a lock on it... this was during the afternoon and both kids were home. It works for quickies :)

Nap time is a good opportunity or how about leaving your child with family (if they are nearby) for a bit. Showers are always fun... DH and I used to do that when we had a bigger shower. Also, how about putting your child in one of those travel crib things with some toys and a movie while you and DH get away to the bedroom for a bit.

Good luck!

I'm obviously no expert when it comes to this, I know what to do I just don't do it but...what about hiring a sitter for a couple hours a week during the day? Another great option for women in this situation is to swap with another SAHM. You take her little one every, say Monday for the morning and she takes yours every, say Wednesday. I do daycare and once they get used to it, they love going to their friends house for play dates. My guys have had their friends at the house basically their whole lives and miss them on weekends and holidays. It's a great way for them to start socializing. I find at 2 they get into too much to be able to leave them on their own.

Well, even though by that time we are tired, the 8 o'clock hour is when both kids are down....and they sleep well, so we don't worry about waking them up...we got luck that way!

T is right - you should find someone that you can drop her off with, even for an hour to "run some errands". Of course, you help with their kids too. Or....if you DO have daycare, just ask if you can pick them up later one day.

For a really special occasion.....find a less expensive hotel and check when their rates are really low, then reserve connecting rooms!

Even though night time has never been a problem for us, my DH and I have learned to fully enjoy the "naked nap", while the 5 year old and 2 year old lay down in the afternoon, we don't really have to it is just nice and as you know the actual nap afterwards leaves you both feeling closer and refreshed for the rest of the day. We have also utilized the shower since our bedroom is pretty much baby proof we put in a movie shut our bedroom door and let the kids play while we shower in the master bath.

Love the connecting rooms idea, Joel. I honestly never thought of that, and considering I'm not ready to leave them with someone over night, it just might work!

Yes, and some bigger city hotels have better rates on the weekends since they might cater to mid-week business travelers. Near the airports is always good too. Plus, the kids can have fun in the pool too and get all worn out!

I've been looking at one of those hotels/resorts that have an indoor waterpark! The kids would go nuts and, okay, I would too! But there's just so many to choose from here! I gotta break it down somehow. Some also have nice little private villas! Man, that'd be nice!!!
