Shaving and gyno appt

My DW loves me to do oral on her, and I truly enjoy it without hair in my mouth and stuck in my teeth. But she wants to "grow it out" for several months before her gyno appointment as she's afraid the doctor will think she's strange for shaving.

I've tried telling her that it's no big deal, that he sees lots of shaved women.

So is it really a common thing to regrow the hair before the annual gyno visit?

Are you new here, oldblueyes? If so, welcome to the board, if not, it's nice to see you back here.

As for your question, her worries have more to do with herself than with whatever her doctor might think. Seriously, if my doctor made any comment about the state of my pubic grooming, I would question why I was seeing him -- and let me add he is an excellent gynecologist, who has always been concerned with my physiological health and problems, and couldn't care less about my grooming, whether it is between my legs, or on my head, lol.

I don't know what is going on in your marriage, or how long it has been since your wife has been to her gynecologist, but really, he or she isn't checking the state of her pubic hair, and if that were the case, well, I'd get the hell out of there and find another doctor. Fast.

No, I wouldn't think it was common. I don't and the first time by provider saw me, she actually asked me quetions, and thought she might try it.

I've been going bare for 30+ years, I've had 3 different gynos (all males) in my many years of going to gynos and not one ever so much as raised an eyebrow seeing no hair down there.

Even if shaving or trimming wasn't very common, which it is, a professional DR isn't going to make notice of it unless it is somehow causing problems (and that would be like cutting the skin, nicks, badly ingrown hairs, etc). DRs have seen and heard it all. I wonder why she's willing to grow out her hair for an exam that is at best 10 minutes long, when both of you enjoy it shaved.

Like Nenu said, if she is worried her DR judges her in that way, she really needs to find a new DR. Gynos obviously talk about a lot of sensitive health issues, lifestyle choices, sexual behavior, etc. Their job is to provide quality health care, compassion and answer questions. It would be just as (well, even more) inappropriate for a DR to say anything about her personal grooming as would be so say something about the bra or undies she wears.

Maybe it isn't really that she's afraid of what the doctor will think of her for shaving -- maybe she feels she'll be TOO naked in front of him (or her), since she shaves for your personal preference in giving her oral? I don't know, I'm just guessing here, but it could be based more on that. Ask her.
