Tantra Chair--I finally got it!

Hello guys,
I just wanted to update and let you all know that I did indeed get my tantra chair, and I used it for the first time last night. It was a wonderful experience. Before we used the chair, we watched the "instructional video" that gives a guide to the plethora of positions one can try on the tantra. There were A LOT to choose from, but I think we only tried about 7 of them--for intercourse--and a few others for oral alone. The chair makes the angle for many different positions soooo comfortable and effortless. It puts me in mind of the Esse ramp from the liberator, which I also have. The tantra chair just feels regal though, lol. A little trivia is that the shape of the chair was fashioned after the shape of a woman's body---so it just looks sensuous and inviting. I'm actually lounging on it right now while I'm typing on my laptop. The chair is a bit pricey--a little over a 1,000 dollars-US with taxes & shipping and handling, but it's a great investment for the quality of your sex life. I don't mean this to say that having sex in a bed or elsewhere is boring (it's most certainly not!, lol), but anything that can help make one of your favorite activities more enjoyable and exciting and is well worth it.

Well, I thought I would have more to say, but I don't, lol. Can't you feel my excitement and awe being expressed via this post?! *smiles* If you guys have any questions about the chair feel free to ask. I'm enjoying it so much, and it was well worth the wait (almost a month). Okay that's the end up my update!

"I have been dying for this update. I cracked up when you said "we only tried about 7 of the positions" lol. Now DH and I are extremely adventerous with sex and we usually max out at around 4 or 5 positional changes. I want one of these chairs. I think I need to write Santa Claus. Do you think he makes sex toy deliveries too?

What color was the one you got again? I forgot. I have to say I thought it looked like it would be a comfy seat as well as a great sex accessory. I have been eyeing the esse chair too. Hmmmm, so much to think about here.

I'm so thrilled for you and DH that this chair turned out to be exactly what you wanted it to be. And it's only the first night! How exciting."

Hi Michelle,
You made me laugh too with your response about the positions, lol. All I can say is, me and my husband have lots of energy to expend sometimes--and we put it to good use *smiles*.

The positions done on the chair really were great, and just...WOW! I got the Red/Gold dragon pattern. I had originally ordered the maroon/gold Morrocan print, but changed my mind because the sleeve I have on my Esse ramp is already a gold Moroccan print--I wanted something a little different. I'm so satisfied with the quality and finish of the chair. It's a work of art really, and just adds to the class of the Kama Sutra room. I don't see why Santa would have any qualm about making your Christmas wish come true, especially if Santa will be on the receiving end of your enthusiam and gratitude at receiving your present.

Last night was only the first night we used our chair, but I have so many more exciting nights planned. I have to say that the shape makes it an even more comfortable place to nap. I was just watching the instructional video again and have some ideas already for what positions I want to do tonight, lol. We're having lots of fun with this purchase.

Dear Chakra,

You offered to answer some questions, so here goes (new to the community -- be gentle):
My wife and I have been thinking about the tantra chair for months on end, now, and I'm bursting with basic questions about it. We've read all the posts here that mention it, and have visited the tantrachair website. I'm glad y'all are enjoying it, BTW.

I hope you won't mind my asking these questions. You're the first "real person" we've found that owns one of these.

Q1: Does the top come off? I read on Eddy's site that some folks order a "show cover" and a "use cover", but that'd only work if you can easily change covers (unless they were talking about some kind of additional cover that goes over the whole thing during use, which I wouldn't like).

Q2: I guess the same question, really... can you store things inside. Basically, I'd like to put this in the bedroom, but don't want the space wasted, so I'm hoping the whole top lifts off. Maybe it doesn't, though.

Q3: How thick is the padding? Is it pretty firm? I'm a bit concerned about bruising inner thighs on the sides of the chair if one straddles it.

Q4: Did you have an opportunity to see one of these close-up before plunking down a thousand bucks? There don't appear to be retail locations, so this seems like a good bit of faith for so much money.

Q5: Does it feel low to you? When I lay out the measurements, I just feel like it's too short for me to stand beside it. Maybe I'm just off base there.

Welcome to the board, compguy! We're usually quite gentle around here, especially with the kind of questions you have just asked!

Hi Compguy,
Sorry that I'm just now getting around to answering your message. The past couple of days I've been soooo busy, and have just barely had time to stop in and read the board. I don't mind answering your questions, they're actually quite interesting.

Q1: Does the top come off? I read on Eddy's site that some folks order a "show cover" and a "use cover", but that'd only work if you can easily change covers (unless they were talking about some kind of additional cover that goes over the whole thing during use, which I wouldn't like).*****You know, when I was ordering it, I asked them was there a "false" cover with a storage area inside. They informed me that since it was upholstered, that constant removal of the cushion really wasn't a good idea. There is a little top part that you can access to store a couple of things, but it's not like the cushion can be removed all the time to store large items or large amounts of things. There is a waterproof blanket (you can separately purchase) that fits over the chair when you use it, if you're afraid of fluids or scents getting in the cushion material itself. I ordered the blanket just to be on the safe side, and put my own slip-cover on top of it. I also ordered an extra cushion just in case, so if I ever need it, I'll just have my husband put it on for me.

Q2: I guess the same question, really... can you store things inside. Basically, I'd like to put this in the bedroom, but don't want the space wasted, so I'm hoping the whole top lifts off. Maybe it doesn't, though.******You can't store things inside, at least not with the model I have. They actually have made a couple of models that have a hollowed out area that you can use as a place to store your toys or other items you wish, but they've not gone into mass production.

Q3: How thick is the padding? Is it pretty firm? I'm a bit concerned about bruising inner thighs on the sides of the chair if one straddles it.*****The padding is pretty thick, and it is firm, but very comfortable. I don't think any bruising should occur. The wood parts where the cushion ends are slightly rounded and not sharp-ended---I think this was done on purpose to prevent injury. Also, as with anything, if you start to feel discomfort, don't continue what you're doing, just change positions and this should help you avoid any bruising or cramps.

Q4: Did you have an opportunity to see one of these close-up before plunking down a thousand bucks? There don't appear to be retail locations, so this seems like a good bit of faith for so much money.*****I never got to see one close up before I ordered, I just went to the website and read the review froms the Discovery channel (comments from the Discovery channel just basically said it was a great chair) and Freddy and Eddy's website.

Q5: Does it feel low to you? When I lay out the measurements, I just feel like it's too short for me to stand beside it. Maybe I'm just off base there.******Well my husband's pretty tall---a little over 6'2"----and he hasn't complained about it being too small or low for him. I'm tall myself and don't have any problems. The thing is, it's not really a chair that you would "sit" in. The lowest part is indeed too low for some maybe to lounge on, but the curves are just right and contoured for the angles your body takes on when you make love. So those dips serve a great purpose. The highest dip is good for oral sex, and modified missionary positions (woman laying on back, man standing up) Check out the positions guide on the tantrachair.com website. It'll give you a better idea of how those dips and curves help to accomodate in different positions. Also, if you're used to making love in a bed, it may indeed take some getting used to, because it is a little confined, and not as much movement is allowed, but me and my guy love it all the same and have had no problem adjusting--but then we love to make love on the floor with just our big pillows for support as well, so that could have prepped us.

Great questions compguy, if you have any more, please feel free to ask. I can certainly tell you things from personal experience. There is also a (800) number you can call in "contact us section" to ask even more questions about the actual structure of the furniture. You could inquiry about them maybe selling you a version of the chair with a storage compartment built inside--maybe I should have pushed the issue as well. If they do that for you, let me know how it goes. Right now to store my toys, I use a large Kama Sutra Hideaway pillow (from liberator.com) and a little wooden chest--neither of these draw any extra attention when people see them--In fact, I'm convinced they have no idea! lol. Have a good day and welcome to the board.
