My DW and I used the Sympto-thermal method of natural family planning. We have used it for over 13 years now and we haven't had any children we didn't plan to have. It does work, but it takes effort.

Nooooo kidding. I went through several procedures (painful D&Cs, IUD, etc) to try and help, and I was about to jump off a cliff if my DR wouldn't do a hysterectomy. I was sitting in her office, she walked in and said "Oh sweetie, you look so defeated." I had the surgery within a month (on my son's 11th birthday). What a huge relief! I can't even explain how nice it is not to have my period 24/7. I still have my ovaries and unfortunately my cervix (cancer... that's the teal ribbon in my sig). My poor little DD... her period was coming about every 2 weeks, with spotting in between. She's only 110 pounds (at 5' 9") and it was making her anemic. We tried 2 diff BCP and finally tried DEPO. At last, relief for her! My youngest turned 10 yesterday, and I suspect she'll start her period around 11 or 12 too. I hope hers is better!
