What lingerie to wear to feel confident?

My DH is coming home from his deployment very soon. Unfortunately, due to the anxiety of him being gone, and a foot injury, I did not get my body into the shape I was hoping to surprise him with when he came home.

I know he'll be thrilled to be home, no matter what I wear (or don't, for that matter)... but I am very self conscious of my body and want to find some lingerie that I can feel wonderful in. I don't like my stomach, thighs or butt....

I've always thought I'd like a corset - but in thinking about the logistics, it may not be so enticing when we're struggling to get it off.

Any ideas???

Welcome to the board, Erika. What kind of lingerie have you worn in the past, if any? Have started to look at lingerie, maybe even on some of the on-line shops, to get an idea of what is available? I'm sure that once you start looking, you'll see things that will suit your body type.

I'm Nenu, co-cl along with Meme, it's nice to meet you.

In the past I've just had the baby dolls, usually with opaque fabric, and the embellishments over the bust. But I always feel like my legs and butt don't look good in those.

That's about it. I haven't worn lingerie in 2 years or so....

Some corsets have a zipper, so removing them can be pretty erotic. So can unlacing, it's like opening a package. If you're concerned about your butt and thighs, what about something like a body stocking? They kind of disguise everything, and come in all colors and styles.

Sometimes the best way to downplay things you don't love is to play up other parts.

I am sure he'd be happy to see you in a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers, but I definitely get wanting to make it special, you both deserve it.

Frilly ruffles are in right now, and boy-shorts. I think sexy panties and a tank are about as sexy as anything! I love a brand called Honey Dew. Tanks and the right panties can hide a lot but show off just enough!

Okay, well I think that Little M has given you some great suggestions. What it's about now is you feeling good about yourself, because like she said, you could be totally nude and he would be turned on. Have you planned the scenario when DH returns? No matter what kind of lingerie you go with, or even if you are totally naked, think about the lights in your room. Are you planning on having a total seduction scene, because if so, consider subudued lights and maybe even some candles, too.
