What size bed?

Thought I might start a discussion for Monday, although it's still Sunday night here...

Anyway, I was talking to my dad today, and he announced that he and my mother had just purchased a king size bed. And I said why, don't you like each other? And he said what the heck's that supposed to mean?

I've always enjoyed the closeness of our not-so-small queen size bed. We're not on top of each other, yet we're close enough to maintain physical contact. So I thought I'd put it out there: what size is your bed, do you like it, and would you like a bigger (or smaller) one?

Cheers,

Boddies

Bodies, I agree with you. My wife and I have a queen sized bed. just right for staying close enough for phycical contact and big enought to allow for personal space. I loved your father's comment. I think you inherited his sense of humor!! LOL

My wife and I have a queen sized bed. It gives me a little more room (am 6' 4"). My wife, though, is 5' 3" so it doesn't much matter to her.

Hi there! We also have a Queen Size bed & I like it for the same reasons. It is great to have the room to roll over and get some personal space yet still be close enough to my guy that I feel safe and happy.

When my kids were really small, they all liked crawling into bed with us around 5 in the morning... A King size bed would have been great back then.

Yes, sense of humor and love of music both come from my dad. And every day I thank him for both!

We also have a queen, but with my dog that insists on sleeping up against my leg, I would love a king size.

Plus, there is something I have always loved about a king size bed in a hotel room. We always have pretty raucous sex on them I think because there is so much room to move around.

For us, the size of the room doesn't warrant a king..

We got a queen 3 yrs ago when DD started climbing out of her crib and into bed with us. She's a kicker so we needed more space...she got our old double.

The extra space is nice in summer when its hot and we need our space but its wasted in the winter since I'm smashed up against DH to keep warm. He's average size for a guy and I'm very small, so our double was just fine!

And DD never jumps in with us anymore, she goes to her big brother's room and bothers him instead.

We also have a queen size bed. A king is just way too big. We like to be closer together. I need to be able to move my leg and touch my DH. Many people we know have king size beds and love them. They just arent for us.

For me, the desire for a larger bed is not that I don't like contact and snuggling - but sometimes at the end of my day - with a one year old - I am just hugged out and I want some personal space!

It's unfortunate that it's at the end of the day... but it's getting better as she gets older.

My DH and I have an oversized queen and it's perfect. We love it.

I love my king size!! We have a king size waterbed, which I am longing to sleep in right now. At the moment we are camped out on the pull-out couch in the livingroom, until we get our new flooring out down in our room.

You can always sleep as close as you want, but there is no competing with the extra room you have when you are awake;)
