Brazillian Wax

Not sure if this is the correct board but for awhile now I've been thinking of going to get my first Brazillian wax and would like input / feedback from those of you girls who have been through this experience before. I've done all the Googling online about stuff, but I want firsthand conversations I suppose. Do they REALLY get EVERYTHING? or is it just on the outside (because I have hair growth on the inside edge of my labia as well & just the thought of hot wax there & then it being ripped from that most delicate flesh freaks me out!) but at the same time, I want to make sure I dont have to do even more work on my own when I get home if I'm paying for this service. Do they put you in all sorts of positions or ask YOU to move around or? I'm not skinny, so I have skin from my thighs that are in the way when I normally shave and my belly is in the way - how does the waxer ensure they even have enough hands to pull the skin right, do the waxing AND lay down the cotton strip? Are there 2 waxers in the room like they do at the Doctor's office to ensure everything is 'safe'? Can someone please share some of their more graphic, but honest, experiences to a Brazillian 'virgin' like me so I know what to expect?

I had it done once and it was only one woman. She was very nice and did a great job.  They do get everything if you tell her that's what you want. Just make sure you go to a reputable place.  You are laying down on a table. She may ask you to move a little just so she has better access.

Yup they get it all, right up to the labia. One girl only, she will move your parts to the side to get a clear spot, and yes the hot wax goes there too. She will ask you to hold your tummy and thighs taut. You lay on your back and flip over to have your anal area done (you'll have to hold your cheeks spread apart too). Have fun. I get it done about every month.

I recently had my first one and it's not nearly as bad or scary as you might think. Go to a reputable place. I had one waxer and she was very nice. It was a bit awkward for me right at first, but then I got over it. They will move parts, skin, etc. themselves if needed. When they did my butt, all I had to do was put my legs together (still lying on my back) and bend my knees and lift up my legs.

They got every single hair-even in places I didn't know I had hair! And yes, it did hurt, but I'm sure it won't be nearly as bad the second time.

Hi Briana:

The aestistitian will be very professional. Please remember that it won't be her first time. She will remove everything - and this may include going back with a tweezers.  The best advise is to take 2 Advil before the waxing. There will be some short term discomfort. It should last only 2 - 4 hours.

Enjoy!

So it has been a while, did you get your Brazilian done? Gosh almost 10 years ago I was traveling and after a couple months on the road decided to get a massage one saturday to relax. They also advertized they gave brazilians to men so yep I did. I love it so much that I contintue to stay waxed. I you have not gotten your brazilian yet you need to stop what you are doing and just go have it done. You will be so gald you did.

(Sorry about the long response! If you've already gotten your wax, just ignore this, haha, but if not, I hope at least something in here helps!)

------------------------

It's been a while since the original post, so you've probably already had your wax done - I assume?

Anyway, I had a brazilian done about a week or so ago, and it was my first time getting anything other than my eyebrows waxed.  I thought it would be awful, but I found it pretty anti-climactic after all the horror stories I'd heard about it hurting.  It wasn't painful at all.  I mean I wouldn't go so far as to say it was pleasant, haha, but it was far from actual pain. I'd say it was more like moments of minor discomfort, at worst.

I found a place near me that had a ton of great reviews online and had a couple write-ups in local magazines, which ended up making it a little more pricey probably than a lot of other salons, but I wanted to be sure I was going to a place where I'd feel sure they knew what they were doing.

There was only one aesthetician, no one else in the room, like when you go to the gyno.  I requested a female, since I knew I'd be more comfortable with a woman waxing my junk than some guy, lol.  Basically, I just had to take my pants and underpants off, and lie down on an exam table. I'd heard about sugar waxing, so I asked the aesthetician about it, and she recommended the regular wax, because she said the sugar would take longer and would likely be more painful.

She was very nice and professional, and most importantly, she was quick. She explained how she needed my legs positioned, and she moved my skin around as necessary to get all the hair in every possible area (except for a strip left on my pubis, which I requested - normally a brazilian is completely bare, but I prefer to have at least a little hair). In some places, she had me help to pull my skin tight, which is important in controlling any pain or discomfort you might feel. The more taut the skin is, the easier the hair will come out.  Make sure you've let your hair grow out a bit before going in, too - if it's too short, the wax won't be able to get a hold of it to remove it, and you may end up having to tweeze those bits afterward if you want them gone before your next wax (which isn't so bad either, as far as pain is concerned, as long as you pull your skin tight enough around the hair, but it's a PitA). The wax itself is very warm, but it is not so hot that it is going to actually burn you, so I wouldn't worry about the wax hurting on its own, either.

The weirdest part to me was when it was time to wax the back. I'm not the most modest of people, but getting on all fours is not a position you're used to being in on an exam table, lol! It wasn't for very long, though, and just like your doctor, they've likely seen it all, so don't be embarrassed. But if you're paranoid like me, just don't eat anything beforehand that tends to make you gassy, and bring a lady wipe to freshen up a bit in the bathroom before going into the room.
