Ladies and their moon...

This may be a little off topic from our typical taboo subjects, but I thought that I would bring it up anyway. Ladies, hopefully most of you can identify.

Why is it that like a week or a week and 1/2 prior to your moon (menstrual cycle) coming on that you feel so bloated and unattractive?! This is so annoying. I'm having dinner with my husband and about 10 of his colleagues tomorrow night, and I feel that I look so frumpy--even though my husband swears that I don't look any different to him. I think I'm bloated for one thing and it makes feel like I resemble a little blimp. Also I've been craving sweets left and right! I'm trying to control myself because I want to at least have that model-starved-chic look going on tomorrow night, but the three chocolate icecreams that I indulged in today are probably going to show up somewhere. I don't even know if I should wear my little black dress tomorrow. And another thing, why is it that when we're feeling less than sexy, our husbands feel the need to get extremely horny and want to jump our bones every other minute, lol. I mean don't get me wrong, I don't ever turn down my husband for sex, but I'm wondering why he is so amorous right now. Doesn't he see what I see when he looks at me?--a little sugar craving, blimp in lingerie!--

I guess some of this thinking has to do with my new haircut from last week, and the fact that I haven't taken my B-vitamins in about a week. I completely sheared off my long hair. My hair was about 3 inches past my rear, and I got it chopped off to my chin! I'm a little depressed I think, and it's taking some getting used to. I've had short hair before, but that was in my teens, and even then it was to my shoulders. My husband misses my hair as well, but he makes it a habit to tell me every day how my new haircut is growing on him and how much he loves it. He's so sweet *smiles*. Anyway, okay I've vented now. In college I read a study that suggested women should wear dark, vibrant blues when they're PMSing, because it helps their pituitary gland signal the body to release endorphins. Blues supposedly calm the senses and bring the body into homeostasis. Maybe I'll try it? Anyways guys, thanks for listening.

Wow, that's a radical haircut.

Hello Jazz,
Thanks for sharing in my rant. Although I know the medical reason that we bloat, I still sometimes wish that it didn't feel so obvious. I won't knock it though, it's all part of a healthy female body system. Radical haircuts always make a person depressed--from what I've seen anyway. It is hard to part with one's hair! Like you, I cried for a couple of days after I had done the deed of shearing my locks. Now I'm starting to get used it, somewhat. My neck always feels as if someone is blowing cold air back there now that my curtain hair is no longer there to keep it warm. I decided to go ahead and wear my black dress to dinner tonight. I've been drinking some herbal tea since yesterday afternoon, and I find that it actually helps with the bloating and cravings.
