everyone. I can't help but notice that no one is posting . Not even our regulars. Is it the new format? I need some input here. What can I do to help everyone feel like this board is home? This has never been the fastest moving board , but I feel like we're turning into a ghost community.

* Hugs to ALL!*

Hiya Daisy...

couple of things.

1. New format is very challenging. I, personally, hate it, and that makes me think twice before posting. I am not visiting any of my regular boards the way I used to. I avoid it, for the most part, unless I see a post that really grabs me.

2. War. I am sure that many people are more concerned right now with world events than with getting kinky bedroom tips. lol.

3. The board experiences ups and downs, even without these two other elements. In the past, we would have flurries of activity, followed by periods of pretty much nothing. It is like our libidos, lol.

Thanks Audrey!

As far as the boards go I've found that the more I post the easier it it becomes to navigate . I actually am getting used to them and don't mind them nearly as much as I used to !

Take Care!

No one's posting because there's a BIG problem with the new format. I can access these boards at work, probably because we have a T1 connection. However, I cannot access these from home anymore through my dial-up connection. The screen loads as a complete blank. You can hit the refresh button a million times and nothing appears. BIG RED FLAG!! This is impacting all the ivillage and women.com boards. I've read similar complaints from other members being unable to access the boards. I strongly urge you to get your web team involved immediately, or you will begin losing members as well as valuable advertising $$$$$. I've already been searching the Yahoo Groups for similar forums. Sorry for the bad news, but facts are facts.

The new format is pretty much terrible. I used to love seeing all the individual threads, etc.

You are right! I think it is the new board. I know I don't really like it. It could be everyone is on the news sites looking for war info like me.

Maybe someone needs to talk about a steamy sex encounter to wake everyone-up. I would but it has been a month sice I got any.

My 2 cents is that this new design is bad. Yes, it looks nice, but it's not user friendly. You need to pass on that they need to get their money back from the designer who did this.

I don't like the new format either. I think its really bad to read posts. Rather than just clicking on a post I haven't read I need to go through the original post. Maybe others have found shortcuts but I haven't. Even with my quick internet connecitons its talking too many clicks to get in and way too many clicks to get back out.

It was not easy to post a response. I was not logged in. When I clicked on post a response, my computer got caught in a loop going between the message boards and the login. When I clicked on login, nothing happened. Finally, I tried to email you. I clicked on your name, then I clicked on emailing you, and then I received the login page. That login worked.

I do miss the headings for the responses, they were useful. But I will not miss the message board being cleared after 50 new messages.

Its the format honey!

I lurk lots and post a little when i think I have something new to add.

But this new format doesn't allow individual headlines in responses.

It doesn't permit quick scanning of headlines to see which posts/authors a person might want to read.

Why do I now have to look at and wait for ads to load?

I think its a plot by ivillage to cut the traffic back on the boards to save money. And I think its working beautifully.

Which is a shame because this is a great board with great posters and we're losing our energy here.

peace,

joe
