Upcoming Gender-Bender Party
| Wed, 04-05-2006 - 12:14pm |
Hello, all.
My wife and I were invited to a party next weekend hosted by some of our friends that is of all things, a gender-bender party (i.e. you go dressed as the opposite sex - didn't know they still had those!). Anyway, I'm outwardly reserved about the whole idea, but inwardly, I'm kind of excited actually. I've always thought women get to wear cool clothes.
So, what do you think would be appropriate and/or good for me to wear? I'm about 5'7" with a very in-shape body. I'll probably even be willing to shave my legs, since I cycle a lot, and we do that periodically anyway. I'd love to hear your suggestions!
Thanks,
Matt

It depends upon what kind of effect you're going for (e.g., comedic vs. realistic).
Also depends on your facial structure and frame.
Hi, Matt.
If you're shooting for realistic, remember that its the little, subtle things that make the difference. You're definitely going to need your wife's help with makeup and the finer points, but a couple of things to be sure to do are:
1) Pad your hips and rear. get a pair of pantyhose a size or two two big and some foam rubber to pad your hips out to an appropriate feminine size
2) If your wife has a girdle or waist cincher, wear it, and remember that women's waists are an inch or so higher than yours.
3) In addition to shaving your legs, shave your arms and hands. This can make a big difference. Get a nice manicure, and you won't need fake nails unless you just really want them. Lots of women have short nails.
4) depending on how serious you are about this, have your brows waxed. Many men wax and shape their brows all their time, so it won't necessarily be a giveaway after the party. If your wife has an aesthetician she uses, just explain that you need the thinnest and highest arched brows she can give you that won't make you look like Ru Paul Monday morning. This one step can make a HUGE, HUGE difference in whether you look feminine once you're madeup and either have a wig or fix your hair.
5) Remember to be understated. Crossdressers are usually outed because they went over the top. 5" heels, micro mini, an inch of makeup and tall hair will scream "drag queen!", whereas

Great tips, martini.
Matt,
Wear a t-back! :)
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Re eyebrow waxing ... I would NOT do it right before the party.

Would those eys be rolling with waxed eyebrows? ;)
