Aquabona posed this question on the Would You Rather Thread.

I think it merits a full discussion on the board in a thread of it's own

I have lived the Love without Sex and I find it intolerable. I find in myself that without the sex I don't feel loved.

I went close to 20 years having Love without much Sex so I'll take the Sex without Love if forced to make a choice.

I have experienced love with diminishing sex. As I watch it fade I watch the shared life we have diminish as well.

I think I see the Sex without Love as setting yourself up for failure. If by nature you want to be loved, but engage in uncomplicated sex, there comes a time when you might come to love this partner and be bitterly disappointed to discover that sex without love....once it's boiled down....really isn't much of anything but an itch scratched.

Sad but true on both counts.

There really is no right answer. It's a no win situation.

Yes it is unfulfilling....

This line of thinking supports the notion Patty Smyth so eloquently states in song:

Sometimes Love Just Aint Enough....

I agree it is an itch just scratched which is more than I have in a love with no sex where I don't feel loved. If I am scratching that itch, love may evolve it, may not but I will feel desired and wanted...which right now I do not. Right now all I have is a love that I do not feel. So I have nothing...
