Costumes and Sex

Since Halloween is over, I'm sure we've all seen costumes from the entire spectrum that helps propel the holiday profits. I guess I've known for awhile that sex was linked to such an amazing holiday, but this article a friend posted on facebook really puts it into history. So I thought I'd share with you awesome people and see what you think.

I've never been more curous as to what exactly "extremely provocative" would look like. Whew ;)

I do agree that you should have please graduated high school before going the "extremely provocative route".

i've never worn anything provocative, but I've never really had what it takes to do so. I have properly appreciated those that have though :) (and seriously, being able to compliment folks who like some kind of appreciation/feedback when they enjoy Halloween like that is a balancing act. )

Has your provocative apparel (opening up the quesiton to anyone really) had the effect you've wanted?

Some of the responses came from unexpected people, but meant more than expected.

Interesting piece M.

My DD was having trouble finding a costume that wasn't, in her words, too slutty. She ended up with "sexy girl scout". I thought she looked adorable but she thought it was a bit much.

Yes, very interesting! While writing a story a while back, I did a little research on masquerade balls, so I knew some of that, but the tie in to Halloween was something I hadn't read.

Aside from costumes, I see it every day.........I have two kids in grade school, and I will see some of the 5th graders....and just think, wow, I'd never let MY kid go out of the house looking like that! BUT.....you always have to remember, it is what their peers think that determines that.......what was provocative when we were adolescents just isn't as provocative to younger generations, since they are bombarded with images, especially today.......when we (OK, SOME of us!!) were younger, you actually had to go somewhere, a bookstore, 7-11, and PURCHASE with MONEY, a magazine, that might contain a picture of a woman in a bikini. Now, you can have that as a screensaver on your phone for free.

I do not think I will like it if/when my girls start dressing like that, but, I hope to try to understand it, and also be able to teach them what other people will see.....

LOL she could have Q!

You have me thinking now if any of her fellow Hallow-weeners made any salacious comments that night.

If she's got any good ones I'll share LOL
