Happy with Who you are?

A very dear friend of mine and I were discussing life as we usually do and this question came up:

Are you truly happy with the person you are ?

If not What would you change?

Would you be willing to start those changes today to make you the person you would truly be happy with?

Just some easy thoughts for the day??? LOL

Dirty,

I always enjoy your ramblings and your insight into things.

Why do you feel you need to conform to anyone elses standards??? Be the wonderful Dirty you are. Until you are true to yourself will you ever be truly happy??? I do expect an answer....LOL

>>>Until you are true to yourself will you ever be truly happy???

But that's just it. There is a part of me that cares so much for my loved ones that will not allow my actions to effect them. So I must be true to me there.

Yet there is a side of me that seeks adventure and thrills. So I sometime seek them in creative ways. I walk a line and try to find some balance. Hell one of the reasons I surf the boards is to live vicariously.

Make any sense?

It makes plenty of sense to me. I can so relate to that.

Thanks for the validation. It's not always easy to find the balance. Being true to one side often means depriving the other.

nh.......You have many things to be happy about in your life, if I may be so bold as to say that. You have all these people here who think the world of you for starters.

When you were ill, there were many heartfelt prayers said for your quick and hasty return to good health. Many people never have true friends who care for them like that. You should feel honored and quite proud that so many others love you the way they do here.

If you fell after trying to make changes in your life that would bring you happiness, I'm quite sure, given the fact you have the guts to jump on a hog and be free as the wind, you have enough inner strength to get your ass back up and try it again.....but if you simply couldn't make it back on your own, there's plenty of people around who would love to help you.

I hope your day becomes better with each passing hour. Bet it will. Keep expecting life to smile on you friend. In return, it usually does to those who want it badly enough. Here, catch this smile..............Hey, it doesn't look too bad on you either....:)

Certainly no thank you's needed.

Don't we all have some things about us we would like to change, or at least "tweak" nh. Nothing is impossible when it comes to the human spirit, and the will inside each of us to survive. If you must see a therapist in order to better conquer these issues you have, then by all means you should do that post haste.

You seem so "in tune" with things here on this board......so it's a bit baffling to me that you have a difficult time opening up, and allowing your feelings to be felt and heard. Hell, I hear you just fine!!

I sincerely wish you the best in having things improve for you once you get the help any good therapist can provide. He/she will, in time, get you to where you want to be......be patient and it will happen for you.

Good things happen to good people, by and large nh. You're a good person.....expect the best, and don't settle for less. If you just try to do those two things in life, I'm a firm believer happiness is not only possible, it's inevitable. EXPECT THE BEST.....DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS. Good luck to you.....and as one of the posters recommended you do......when you're not having a good day, lie and say you are...LOL. God that's hilarious!!

lol....when you're not having a good day, lie and say you are... I usually do do that...lol.

I'm a people pleaser. I like to please everyone else before myself, always been like that. That needs to change. I need to come first.
