To me, mine didn't hurt...well it hurt, but I loved every second of it ~grin~

As for piercings, my ears and nipples, had my tongue and navel done, but I took those out

nipples....ubhhhhhhhh,,,cringing right now...you must enjoy pain...I think nipple piercings look hot..but i am too much of a baby to get that done...just thinking about it makes me cringe...ha,ha....the tat nearly killed me..I was a bucket of sweat....I dont have alot of meat where i got it done mind you...but still I am a baby...Just wondering Loth, you dont have to answer if too personal..but wondering what age group you are in....I am just curious if women who are a bit older like me...i am 45...are getting tats and piercings...i just got my naval and my tat last year, I am picturing still younger ones getting the tongue and nipples, but just wondering if older folks like me have done these or considered doing these??

I am 27, so still a young one....but the majority of my friends are older than me. I am friends with the folks who own the tatt shop as well as a woman who owns a piercing studio here in town. In my experience with friends of mine as well as conversations with the above mentioned individuals people of all ages are getting inked and pierced. Whereas the younger folks are doing it because it's a fad and its "cool" (not all the time, but alot of the time, and they end up regretting it because they did't put much thought into it) I find that people in an older demographic do it for personal reasons and aren't as apt to share their experience with others. One friend of mine is 42 and covered in tattoos, and I don't forsee him stopping anytime soon. I think with folks who are older than me and set in their ways, worry that getting a tattoo is too taboo for them, and it isn't. Ypu're way more likely to not regret it if you get it later in life, your reasoning skills and expectations of what you're doing are generally better than they were when you were 20, so you take more time to ponder it.

Anyways, I hope this helps! If you want any morew info I'll be happy to help however I can!

Same with me, mine itched a little nothing to bad...it burned the first day and the first night, I couldnt lay on my back...but it never peeled...it healed perfectly...and I used Tatooe Goo, which stops the peeling and actually helps to keep the colors vibrant...

I agree with you totally, for some reason I had pictured you as being older....but when you said you had your nipples pierced, I figured you were younger than I had pictured....I think you are likely wiser beyond your years...a good thing, please take as a compliment...sometimes you can tell people are younger by their posts...a bit imature sometimes...you clearly have your head on straight for your young years...wish my sons head was more like yours...ha,ha....anyhoo....I dont forsere a time where I will regret my tat...I think you are right about older folks doing it for different reasons...I had kept mine to myself...very few people new I had one..in fact I just slipped up in front of my mother a couple of weeks ago..ha,ha...because I did get it for myself...my DH didnt want me to get one...and I said I am getting this for me...and the next one will be for me as well...he does not want me to get that one either...now the piercing the naval was I know more of a mid life crisis thing I will admit...but i knew when I got it, that it was something that was not permanent and I could take it out if i wanted to.....to this point I have not taken it out...and DH kinda likes it now....I am lucky and have a flat stomach...but I did want one for some time before going through with it....I think that alot of older people dont talk about it becuase they are afraid what people will think of them...I know I got alot of snickers and people saying I was going through the mid life thing....and that kinda made me mad with the tat as it was not that and was well thought out....

I definatly take it as a compliment Sandi. I have been told by many people that I seem much older than my 27 years. I, myself don't take my physical age to be my true age, if that makes any sense. I am a firm believer in reincarnation and in taking wisdom from former lives into the new one. I believe I have been
