I hope that everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend. I also hope that at some point in your festivites that you take time to honor those who have served for this country and particularly for those men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. I want to honor the following:

My great-grandfather who served in Co. G, 6th regiment of the SC Reserves in the CSA

My uncle, who as a member of the US Army, stormed the beach at Normandy on June 6, 1944 and later served in the Korean War

My father, who as a member of the US Army Air Forces, served in World War II and who later as a member of the Air Force participated in the humanitarian efforts of the Berlin Airlift in 1948

My father-in-law who served in Desert Storm and who worked on the B-2 Stealth bomber program

My brother-in-law, who is a member of the US Navy Reserves
