My Thanksgiving was good. My little sis managed to drive home all the way from Hyde Park, NY. That's a major accomplishment since she used to rely on me to navigate. She did have a girl drive with her who lives an hour south of us. It was wierd though because we usually have my mom's youngest brother and his family come too, but he's not speaking to my mom for some unknown reason probably stemming from his son stealing pain pills from us, so Grandma seemed sad the whole day. Other than that it was good. Especially my dad's Brandy Alexanders made with vanilla icecream. YUM!
I am glad you had a nice holiday. I seem to recall a post where you mentioned your sister having navigational difficulties. Something about a wrong train I think. LOL
Brandy Alexanders with vanilla ice cream.!... Secret...you have given me a perfect idea for a get together I am
Yes....my sister is navigationaly challenged. I just hope she makes it home safe today. My mom's borther has issues he needs to work out...so yes family can be difficult.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post the recipe!
I will go out and get some dark creme de cacao...I have the white at present as I use it in Chambord martinis.
My DH and his sisters are traveling a very rocky road lately. I stay out of it, wisely, but can't help but shake my head at them. Sometimes they make me glad I am an only child.
How could I not post the recipe? I love sharing good recipes with friends.
I wish my uncle wasn't such a brat. He's mid 40's but acts like he's 12. He holds a grudge forever. My mom did nothing except tell my aunt and uncle that my dad's hydro's were missing and the only people who had been over to our house since we returned from vacation were their son, their daughter, and her boyfriend. Both boys are drug users so we knew it was one of the two. My mom only called to let them know that the pills were missing and in case something happened to one of the boys, then the pills may be a factor. I'm just thankful my sis and I are getting along.
My Turkey day was pretty dramatic lol...not to mention exhausting. We went over to my Dad's house for Thanksgiving dinner, it's the first time everyone on that side of the family has been together in 10 years for a holiday. The food was wonderful, we hand lamb instead of the more traditional turkey...I didn't feel great, the pain got to me that day, but I took my pain pills and got through it...I had hoped to have some time to talk to my dad about my current health situation, but my sister came to the house saying her ex broke two of her ribs and blah blah blah...now she has a restraining order and her divorce is just now that much messier...but thats a looooong drawn out story that ends with her not actually having any bruises...I'm a little irritated with her..can you tell? lol...anyways it was great to see my aunt and all my cousins I haven't seen in forever, I jsut with that my sister would have taken the opportunity to re-connect with them instead of monopolizing the whole night with her "poor me" woes.
