I enjoy writing and reading. Since I was an Elglish major in College I have read material across all time periods. British and American literature, middle eastern and others. I have read the greats and the not so greats. I have read Descartes, Newton, Tolstoy, Joyce. I have taken classes in poetry, pulp fiction, science fiction, crime detective non-fiction.I have read erotica for men and women, horror erotica, S&M, B&D erotica I have read Kings book, "The Art of Writing" Plus I have written many papers for these classes picking apart story lines, line by line trying to fine fault with characters and the authors.
So the question is, what kind of a writer am I. I will never be as good as any of the people I have mentioned or ever read. I can only hope that when I do write it will move people, make them think and to question what I have said. To evoke passion, love, hate, to piss off the world like Rushdie(Satanic Verse). Maybe to write a book that Oprah will have on her book of the month club. Maybe I will write some great novel where my book is required reading for some literature class. Maybe 100 years from now someone will discover my essays short stories and misc. random thoughts stored on my computer. Maybe someday someone will turnover these random writings to my alma mater and they will be published and everyone will wax and wane on what a greater writer I was and why was I never discovered.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the thingsyou didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines.Sail away from the safe harbor.Catch the trade winds in your sails.Explore. Dream.Discover" ...
ou Should Be A Poet You craft words well, in creative and unexpected ways. And you have a great talent for evoking beautiful imagery... Or describing the most intense heartbreak ever. You're already naturally a poet, even if you've never written a poem.
