For you, Moon

This is a thread for Moon, either bring her a song with the moon or roses mentioned in it, or better still both, a picture or just something with the moon or roses in it.

Why? Just because.

Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
neath the cover of october skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And Im trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush

Chorus:
Can I just have one a more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love

Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I cant wait til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that youre never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you cant hide

Chorus

Repeat 1st verse

One more moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Cant I just have one more dance with you my love

To Moon, my friend......

The Full moon shimmers
Rest of the world glimmers
The dark night glows
The moon light follows
Beckoning...yearning
Rising...Hypnotizing
Lovers moan
Passions shown

Moon...Moon...Moon...Come to me
Release me...make me free
Absorb me in your luminescence
Sparkling pathway of your fluorescence
Dancing in the sky
Lovers looking at you sigh
Oceans leap and surge
Stars whirl and merge

Moon...Moon...Moon...Come to me
Listen to my heartfelt plea
Make me a shadow within
Pearl of a reflection in your skin
When my faraway lover looks at you
He will get a luminescent view
My reflection imbued
Of me merged in you

To my lovely friend, Moon....

Moon Shadow
Cat Stevens

I'm being followed by a moon shadow
moon shadow-moon shadow
leaping and hopping on a moon shadow
moon shadow-moon shadow
and if I ever lose my hands
lose my plough, lose my land
oh, if I ever lose my hands
oh, if...
I won’t have to work no more
and if I ever lose my eyes
If my colours all run dry
yes, if I ever lose my eyes
oh if …
I won't have to cry no more.
yes, I'm being followed by a moon shadow
moon shadow - moon shadow
leaping and hopping on a moon shadow
moon shadow - moon shadow
and if I ever lose my legs
I won't moan and I won't beg
of (oh)* if I ever lose my legs
oh if...
I won't have to walk no more
And if I ever lose my mouth
all my teeth, north and south
yes, if I ever lose my mouth
oh if...
I won't have to talk...
Did it take long to find me
I ask the faithful light
Ooh did it take long to find me
And are you going to stay the night
I'm being followed by a moon shadow
moon shadow - moon shadow
leaping and hopping on a moon shadow
moon shadow - moon shadow

Southern Skies
(a Sonnetina Quatro)

The rising moon, large and bright
casts an eerie silver light,
I wonder if this spectral view,
appears, at times, the same to you,
or whether high in southern skies,
a very different picture lies.

There the stars are bright and clear
seemingly appearing near.
I long to visit and upward gaze
at marvels devoid of northern haze.

Lovely poem, inquiring!

As a southern girl, it definitely appeals to me!

No, unfortunately, football right now is not going my way...my alma mater lost this weekend...the Jets, my NFL 'team' (if you can call them that) are off the radar...I'm watching basketball already and licking my wounds!

Entirely my pleasure, my dear. And so much the better if it came when you need a lift.

A Prayer for Mani (god of the moon)

Mani god of the moon, son of Mundailfari and Glauer, pull the moon through the sky every night for us until Hati captures you at Ragnarok

In Norse myth Mani pulls the moon through the sky every night and at the end of the world (Ragnarok) the wolf Hati will catch him, ending the moonlight.
