Please bare with me readers as I am working on this along with keeping up with the ungodly amounts of reading and work for school. Also, I've been reading all the other pieces and amazing!!! This story is so far true...later it'll turn into what's all in my head, but please check out the books written by my instructor. He's so good at his job and will actually be on a show this month airing on Discovery ID about an arson case in Baltimore.

Night classes are never the fun ones…unless you are a Criminology major in one of the nation’s best Criminology programs. So thankfully I am one of the lucky students. I knew my Introduction to Criminalistics class was going to be fun, but little did I know how fun. Nor did I know my luck of having cute guys around would continue in this semester too.
The first thing I noticed that Monday night was the good looking TA at the front of the class. My instructor then came up to the back and introduced himself and the TA’s. Dr. Mauriello struck me as one of the coolest professors. He not only loved his job as a federal agent and teaching for fun…but he is a native Bostonian. The accent so gave it away and made me laugh as it reminded me of my family in Boston.

As class started the TA’s came to the back and sat right in front of me. They were both so awesome, but Nathan was so distracting with his cute looks. I could hardly focus that night but did manage to recognize one of my friend’s wrestling teammates. I also noticed a guy sitting to my right who had gaugers in his ears. This only caught my attention since I hadn’t seen that kind of piercing since hanging out with my old group from high school. I left class that night feeling so excited about my class. Not only was I enthralled with the course material, but I had eye candy to go with it.

The first lab didn’t happen until two weeks later. Nathan always signed me in when he saw me come in the door for lecture but informed me I was in lab group C. I showed up 15 minutes early and took a seat at the lab table. The crime lab was even more amazing than the slides had shown. People slowly filtered in as it neared 6 o’clock. I noticed a friend I met the first night of class and then was caught off guard by the presence of somebody sitting next to me. I looked to see the guy with the gaugers sitting beside me. I simply smiled for fear of my voice squeaking or my more normal response of saying something ridiculous. He was so gorgeous. If we had to work in pairs or groups I was going to lose it. Of course Mauriello says the first activity is a pairs activity and uses me as an example and pairs me with “gaugers”. He makes us introduce ourselves and I learn his name is Chris. We are first required to piece together a plastic fork. I must say we so rocked it even though my darling Nathan told us we were wrong. He later apologized when he realized we were missing the one piece. The next activity was still working in pairs, but this time it was comparing bandage type tape tears. Chris and I nailed it yet again. The last activity required us to work in groups of 4 to identify tree samples. Our group rocked it of course. As we were leaving for the night, Chris gave me a warm smile and had I not been sitting, I probably would’ve made a klutz of myself.

All I could think about the entire walk back to my apartment was that smile...

We all need a little tenderness
How can love survive in such a graceless age?
