Advice on the time before Mr.Right....

Since my breakup about 2 1/2 yrs ago, I have not had a serious boyfriend. I have dated, but nothing long lasting. I seem to meet people but can't seem to make it work. I would really like to meet someone and have a relationship, and feel that I am worth it, but nothing seems to work out.

All of my friends have signifigant others and have a hard time relating to their lives as my life is not revolving around someone else. I no longer long for the bar scene but something more meaningful.

My question: How do I not give off the vibe that I am looking for Mr. Right when I don't feel like dating just anyone. When I don't feel like shopping in bars for someone to date and when all of my friends do everything with their boyfriends? I understand that things happen when they are supposed to, but how do you fill in that time in between when that is where you would like to be?

Keeping yourself busy is key! Ive gone through long spans of singlehood and I have to stay occupied or I go nuts. What are your interests? Get involved in what you like to do and you might meet a compatible man. As an aside, would you consider online dating? Its a good way to find men who are looking for the same thing without hanging in nightclub.

Following your interests is a great idea.

When you are out remember a few things: stay confident & friendly, hold your head up, look ppl in the eyes and don't be shy to chatter with ppl.

I was single for 6 yrs (had many 10, 6 mos r/ships but nothing "serious) and I don't buy into the philosophy "it happens when you aren't looking". I know ppl who "aren't looking" and they are sitting at home watching tv instead of getting out there. I met men at softball games, in line ups, in elevators and LOTS of men online. I dated for the excitement and fun of meeting new ppl...

And you are right, its alot harder now that you are older. Thats bc you know who you are, what you want and you aren't settling for what is available. Thats a GOOD thing! It means when you DO date, there will be more possibility for a longer term r/ship.

It'll happen!
