So how much of an age difference is too much? Do you have a certain number of years as a threshold or line that you would not date someone?

Here is my situation. I am 33. The guy I am dating is 25. At first I was not so sure about dating him because of the age difference. We have since been on a few dates and we talked on the phone several times. One of my friends pointed out that if I were the guy and he was the girl the age difference wouldn't be an issue. I agreed with her and have decided not to think about it and just see where things go.

So I just want to know what other people think.

I think that it depends on the situation and the people involved. I agree that there is a taboo about older women dating younger men. It seems that people are automatically suspicious about it but if it works for you go for it. I am 24 and my b/f is about to turn 33. I used to say that I didn't think I could date someone that much older than me but it seems right. As long as your guy has the maturity level to match you and both of you are OK with it and prepared to deal with backlash from other people, enjoy it while it lasts- I think in some cases age is just a number.
