O.K. I love being a girl but we have a habit that is quite annoying that I really need some help and or insight on. Why do we constantly overanalyze everything, me and my boyfriend broke up two weeks ago and all I do is think about what went wrong and things that I did or didn't do. This is driving me bonkers and I can't stop, especially when I'm at work. Is there any way to stop my constant thoughts or will this just go away with time????

Here are the things I do when I get this way:

I work out/take a long walk with my walkman.

I call a friend and do not talk one bit about my relationship.

I do volunteer work.

I get put on a deadline intensive project at work.

The trick is distraction with healthy/positive activities and yes it does go away in time, but resist the temptation to talk about it ad nauseum with your friends - they will get bored and you will think about it even more.
