Best Friends with Benefits?

Things have gotten weird lately with one of my closest guy friends. For all of highschool he was always like my mine & my best friend's 2nd-best friend. The 3 of us were always tight until graduation. My best friend split and wanted nothing to do with us. That's when I thought I noticed something more between me & him.

Now I know I'm not in love with him, nor him with me. But one night when I was saying good-bye after a long day of our crazy antics, I hugged him for a lot longer than usual- like TEN minutes we were just standing there, taking each other in. The next night I inched my way up to kiss him goodbye, just a quick lip kiss. This too, he responded positively.

About a week after that, we were alone in the middle of the night on his couch like we'd been so many times throughout our friendship. He grabbed me and the next thing I knew we were making out for a good hour. It was great, no strings attached, ya know?

But after that he was back & forth w/ being physical like that, and totally hands off. Now we're both away at seperate colleges, but once Thanksgiving comes, what then? I'm dying to be with someone again, but w/ my forming-career, it would be suicidal for me to have a real boyfriend. We have been talking/iming almost everyday, & I think that given the opportunity something will happen again. Would it be alright for us to go on as "Best Friends- w/ benefits" or is there something about this type of setup that I should know? I hate learning my lessons only after the fact & then I end up hitting myself w/ "If only I had known then..." Any advice at all???

Thanks in advance.

miranova23...

Assuming you're not falling deeply in love with this man...Pianoguy thinks both of you will probably remain BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!

If you're willing to accept the relationship for what it is...along with the fact that it probably WON'T lead to anything more...what's the problem?
