Cant fall asleep at my boyfriends house?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 7 months. I'm 24, and he's 28. This is my second serious relationship. I'm happy, he's happy.. we're very good communicators.. and we don't 'hold anything back'. We don't live together, but he does spend a significant amount of time at my apartment. I've lived in the same apartment for about 3 years, alone. He lived with his bestfriend in a house. When we spend the night together, it's at my apartment. However, I've tried 3 times now to sleep at his place.. most recently on Saturday night. The problem is, I can't sleep. I went to bed at about 2am, and just layed there.. fell asleep for maybe an hour or two around 7am. We've spent the night in hotels without a problem.

I'm a very clean person.. and like to keep things very tidy. He's clean, but his roommate isn't very. They have two dogs and a cat.. and honestly, the place is a mess whenever I go there. My boyfriend cleans up once arrive (he doesn't spend much time at home) and keeps his room pretty tidy, but I'm wondering if the cleaniless is really getting to me. I have a cat, so I don't think it's an allergy problem.

I don't know what to do! One of the dogs is his, so I feel bad that he doesn't get to spend as much time with his dog as he's like. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I's venture to say that your BF's roomate messyness has gotten to you. Living in a dirty place can make one loss sleep. What if there are roaches around or worse? Take your BF's dog to your apartment and spend time there with them. That way you can spend time with him and he can spend time with his dog. You could go back for visits to his house.

Do you have sleeping problems other places as well? Do you sleep poorly when you stay at hotels? Did you ever have problems sleeping when you stayed at a friends house as a kid? Some people simply tend to sleep badly unless they are in their own place in their own bed. There might be nothing you can really do.

Okay I think you really know why you can't sleep at your boyfriends. as far as the dog. Do you like dog's and can you have them at your place. Oh, and why does he have a room mate. Can he afford a place of his own?
Ok, sorry advice thoughts of questions. call it food for thought. SMILE

Thank you for all your replies. I apologize for my delay in response - I don't have constant internet access. As far as bringing the dog to my place, that isn't possible - my complex doesn't allow dogs. I've had occasional stress-related sleep loss, but nothing for well over a year and I've been fine in hotels. I suspect it's my comfort level, as I'm just not comfortable there. So, I guess there isn't anything I can do!

Again, thank for you for the replies! I appreciate all of your input.
