Compatibility Issue (not important!)

If you were not a true animal lover would you agree to have a first date with a man who was really into his guinea pigs? He explained that he lived near his workplace so he could go home in the middle of the day to tend to them when they were ill.
My issue is that I know, hypothetically that I could not tolerate him cancelling plans or running late because one of his guinea pigs was sick or needed to be fed, etc (somehow if it were a dog or a cat it likely would be different but I guess we all have our boundaries!). Whether or not this sounds compassionate on my part I don't know - but it is a reality.
So, would you meet for a first date just to see or move on given the animal issue I described?
Thanks for sharing!

Your mom is smart ;-)...that was my thought exactly!
Mom has been married 48 years and yes, she lied when she first met my dad at a sweet sixteen party. She told him that her father was an "executive" at a company when in fact he ran a commercial windowcleaning service - she was embarassed. Can you imagine if they met today through an online dating service - we would all tell him not to meet her, or not to see her again - imagine what else she could be lying about.
My father on the other hand did not "know" how to properly ask for her phone number so he just stammered "what's your father's last name" and looked up her number.
Luckily, it all worked out . . . .. .
Maybe he thought telling you this would make you think of him as responsible, which he was thinking you'd see as a good thing? Guys do and say some weird stuff without thinking first when they're trying to impress women.
