Find a Conversation

Oooh, SO not a good idea...I went on a first date with a guy a couple nights ago after being up and about constantly since 5:45am (this was around 10-ish). Most of it went fine, conversation flowed fine for a first date, we were flirty, but then I turned into a complete airhead after leaving the restaurant...we both lost track of time (good sign, I suppose) and I missed my bus back into the city that I live in (he lives just outside and I DON'T drive in the city....I'm not suicidal), so he seemed fine with driving me back in, even though I felt a little bad about it...so then I proceeded to get us minorly lost a couple times (in a city I've lived in for four years), stood in front of my friend's apartment's door for probably a half minute before realizing it was open, and tried to leave her apartment again through a closet. I know none of it is anythig major, especially considering we'd already been talking for a month or so before the date, so it's not all he has to go on, but we all know that we want to be on our best behavior on dates regardless...how much damage do you think I did??
By the way, I can laugh at myself...I realize that this is just amusing compared to some of the other posts and the closet door one really had me laughing pretty hard even at the time...it's just typical post-date worries and I really did feel bad about making him drive around like a maniac at that hour, even though it wasn't totally my fault...

Ack...well, even if you knew him for a month (which is a blip in time really!) beforehand, this was the first time you met in person, yeah? In that case, I would not have let him drive me home. Too much potential to get into trouble!
Apologise, but don't apologise over and over again, coz that makes it worse. His response to the apology will tell you how much damage you may have done.
Next time, get a taxi home.

Pianoguy COMPLETELY AGREES with your taxi suggestion. Most cab drivers are skilled in finding a location FASTER than a lot of us are?
Just an aside to cml7721...should you ever 'decide' to get married, be sure you know where your church is located? The LAST THING you want is to be late for your own wedding!

Hey! I resent that... :)
No, I'm not usually so ditzy, honestly, I was just having one of the most out of it days of my life at the wrong time (and to add to that, I had only eaten once all day and ended up sick the next day)...plus a taxi would have cost me a small fortune (I'd estimate a good 40 or so dollars), so that's the only reason I didn't think of it. I've had a little contact with him since and he seems ok...I tried not too apologize too much either. He seems like a nice guy so you'd think he'd let one go, no? Besides, I did prove to be the entertainment of the evening. :) Go figure, when it's a guy I actually like...
