disaster with teacher

So my "professor" is actually a 25 year old teaching fellow (I'm 23). While he and I can't date currently b/c he's still my teacher, for the 1st half of the semester, there was palpable tension--heavy eye contact, and I would catch him full on checking out my body. And we'd have great conversations, too. But then I guess a switch flipped in his brain and he realized I was his STUDENT, because suddenly he got all professional and terse with me. This was kind of an upsetting change for me. The last straw occurred when we both attended a speech at school, and he didn't say hello to me, possibly because all his colleagues were around. During the speech, though, he fully turned around to stare at me looking at cute--but by this time, I was so mad about being ignored that I just glared back. Since then, things have been uncomfortable and I think we're both feeling rejected somehow. He's a great guy, so I guess I want to know, once he's not my teacher, is this situation salvagable? How can I show that I'm still interested?

I think it was unnecessarily rude of him not to speak to you.

Sorry to crash your post, but I have a similar situation...
It's like first when me and him met, he always come talk to me and comes every week to where I work to check out items. But this past week, all of a sudden, he didn't seem to be as talkative, and he didn't come to check things out at the time I work as usual like he doesnt wanna see me! (?)
The only thing possible is that earlier this week when I saw him, I got so nervous, that when talking to him I felt all tongue-tied and didn't totally answer his questions very relevantly, but really is it possible that that one time can make all his previous friendliness and visits to my work place stopped?
Oh, and one other difference is, he actually doesn't teach me, we just met at where I work, and since then he's been very friendy. But like I said, also, the day before when I saw him at the department, I don't know if it's cos other colleagues of his were around, but he acted a little strange!
Would it also be because he realizes his "professional" status, and decide to stop all of a sudden? Should I just let go and try to get over it? I mean, I'm not in his class, and we had this friendly as of equals conversations when we see each other, only up till yesterday or the day before. Please help, cos I can't stop thinking about it!
Or perhaps I should just STOP thinking about it and Really Get Over it?
Sorry again for crashing your post, but your topic is very interesting, hope you guys can give some ideas on these student teacher disasters.... Thanks!
