I was thinking the same thing. I think it depends on the relationship. I know that women tend to get attached quicker than guys do and the smallest relationship or fling could be be blown out of proportion. If a guy is dating someone for a short period of time, I think that maybe a break up wouldn't be the end of the world for him. Not saying he wouldn't be upset, but he'd get over it and move on. But lets say he was in a long term relationship with someone and they called it quits. I think he might be heartbroken and have some trouble bouncing back. Also, it depends on the person they're with. There are many factors to consider, but yes I do think men get heartbroken. I just think it takes a certain someone as aposed to just anyone.

YOU BET WE HAVE BROKEN HEARTS! Problem is...many of us have been taught to keep those emotional feelings to ourselves because...MEN aren't supposed to cry!

There's a song written by Eric Carmen (the music was actually taken from a classical symphony by Rachmaninoff) called: "NEVER GONNA FALL IN LOVE AGAIN!" Perhaps you can reference this through the internet or from a CD? I think if women listen to Eric's lyrics and vocal work, they might get a better idea of how 'a man might feel' after a breakup has occurred?

The music is strangely beautiful, but Eric's lyrics are very sad. :(

thanks,

I was just listening to Rachmaninoff on Sat

Then I switched to sad break up songs,,

But I will find the Eric Carmen version online.

I had a momentary lapse of sadness but much better today.

Rachmaninoff is Pianoguy's favorite classical composer (Gershwin and Debussy come in at #2 and #3). If you've heard Rachmaninoff's 2nd Symphony...Eric Carmen's tune (NEVER GONNA FALL IN LOVE AGAIN) incorporates the main theme of the 2nd movement. Of course, it's a bit more pop oriented....but the mix of music and lyrics is perfect!

Here's hoping there's happier music in your life this week?
