Hi! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with eHarmony? I just signed up today and I'm feeling a bit apprehensive. I'm really interested to hear any advice or experiences!

Thanks!

Well they are supposed to be able to match you up with others that have common values, goals, interests, etc. Unlike those that just allow you to browse through all the listings, eharmony recommends those they figure you will be most suited to, based both on what you say about yourself and what you are looking for.

Of course, it is a good thing to be apprehensive, you always need to look out for yourself. I think the best advice I have heard about internet dating is:

A)try to talk to guys who are local- the chances of actually meeting in person someone from around the world are slim

B)try to set up an actual face to face meeting as soon as possible- even though it may *feel* safer to get to know the person over the internet, you won't really have an idea of who they really are until you meet them. This way you can ensure they are not lying about themselves and you can gauge what they are looking for.

C)when you do meet, make it short like a coffee or lunch- then if you're not having a great time you have to be back at work in an hour. If you do have a great time, you can set up another date.

D)follow your gut. If anything seems wrong or *creepy* trust that! Your subconcious mind picks up millions of body language signals that we don't conciously get. If he's giving off some kind of bad vibe, he probably doesn't have the best intentions.

Good luck!

kassie...

Appsrently...Pianoguy is among the 20% of eharmony clients that can't be matched! According to eharmony.com, the failure to make a match is 1 out of 5?

But if you believe the advertisements...there are probably several eharmony couples who are content with each other?

So I guess you can always try the service and see what percentage you fall into???

It's good to try different methods - so give eharmony a shot but don't let them stop you from trying to meet men in other ways - i.e: through friends, at the gym, etc.

Best of luck
