Friends Again?

I met a guy this past summer, through work and mutual friends, and we hit it off immediately. We were definitely "buds" for a good month before anything sexual happened between us. After that, we were hooking up without labeling ourselves a "couple" or "together" or anything of that nature. Our intellectual connection only grew stronger, as well, and when our jobs came to an end, we agreed to keep in touch. Our work brought us together for that moment in time, but in "real life" we live in cities far apart.
My question is, I have made a few attempts to contact him since we parted and he has not responded. These are not creepy "I miss you so much" or "We belong together" messages. I'm trying to touch base on a friendly level. I'd hate to lose the friendship, so does any gal (or guy) out there have any insights into my situation? Thanks!!

He hasn't responded. Hmm. Emails or phonecalls? Or is it both. No response isn't a good sign. How long has it been since he hasn't responded? Have you told him that you would hate to lose the friendship? You could cut him some slack and give him more time to respond. But don't contact him anymore. The ball's in his court. Once he does contact you, it would be good to have an honest talk about the both of you.
I think you've done what you can. It's his turn to reach out. Right now it sounds like he's trying to make new connections perhaps to alleviate the newness and aloneness of his situation. Hopefully soon he'll remember the people who are already in his life - you.
