I met this really wonderful guy, the romantic man I have dreamed of. We have been out and have enjoyed each others company, but last night after he made out with me and we were getting ready to leave where we were, I ask him about us. He said we are friends that date! What the heck does that mean? I am really confused. He had told me prior he wanted to see more of me and eally likes me, we both have an open door policy when it comes to the oposite sex, no bars attacted just fun. We are supposed to be going on a cruise together also, he makes me feel like I am the most beautiful person in the world, but I am having mixed emptions now, I dont want to loose his friendship but I want to pursue also. Do you thinkhe is just afraid to commit and is using the term friends that date? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pianoguy thinks if each of you REALLY "has an open-door policy when it comes to the opposite sex"---EXPECTING EXCLUSIVITY FROM THIS "perfect man" IS FOOLISH!

There are all kinds of friends that JUST DATE. Sex doesn't necessarily become part of the equation unless both people are comfortable with it?

I think you need to ask yourself if you're expecting something in the way of a commitment by going on the cruise? Or...if you have NO expectations after the "love boat" pulls back into port!

It's YOUR call either way! But once you make your choice...no regrets....okay?

Best wishes and warm thoughts...

Your mind is already changing the nature of the relationship and he is not changing his mind. You will be friends with benefits, based on what you posted. He is not afraid to commit, he still wants to go out and have his fun, that's all. Marriage or commitment means no hanky panky with anyone else for the rest of your life and that is not a reasonable expectation for any of us (male or female), especially if "ever after" means about 50 years.
