is he worth pining for?

So I have issues with a teacher at my school. He's only a couple years older than me, and we are a lot alike. We say the same things at the same time. I have had a crush on him the whole semester, and did certain things to hint at that. I think he might be attracted, too, since I often catch him just staring at me, and he doesn't look away when I meet eyes with him. However, things can also be very awkward between us. I think maybe this is because of the attraction, and because he feels compelled to be extra professional around me right now to avoid impropriety.

I guess what I wonder is that after this class is over in a couple weeks, will he ask me out? At that point, I think it's ok in terms of the school's rules. But I just feel like I've spent so much energy pining for him and dressing up for him, and so far it's gotten me nowhere. My confidence is kind of shaky, because all I have to go on is the way he looks at me, and the fact that he seems kind of freaked out around me. Is there anything I can do at this point (short of asking him out) to make something happen?

I wouldn't keep my hopes up given that he's your teacher. He may indeed be attracted to you, but I doubt that he'd jeopardize his career for a student. Even if school is over in a few weeks he still is a teacher and he may teach there again. Dating an ex-student/student of his won't look good in his resume.
