how do you know the difference between love and intimacy? so many magazines say that intimacy is talking more, holding hands, cuddling but is that really intimacy? don't you do those things when you are in love???

To me, true intimacy is knowing the other person inside and out, and accepting them for who they are...and vice versa...being accepted for who you are, and being able to be yourself and say anything to your partner.

Intimacy is the act of being romantic and friendly at the same time. Love is a deep romantic friendship that develops over time. You have to have intimacy before you can have love.

intimacy is the way you act with each other as you draw closer to each other, love is how you feel about each other - and of course intimacy is a part of love so yes, holding hands is a symbol of affection. Just because you hold hands, of course, does not mean you are in love.

For me, intimacy is a part of romantic love. Without intimacy, I don't see love being complete. True intimacy happens with time. Physical intimacy can happen sooner. And intimacy to me, is being comfortable sharing anything, and still being accepted. Physical intimacy is a part of intimacy. Being able to share and discuss stuff, being able to show your vulnerable side...is emotional intimacy.
