I have been out of the dating scene for awhile. There guy working in my building and I mentioned to a mutual friend of ours that I thought he was cute. He told her that he wanted to ask me out and what did she think I would say. She told him the only way to find out was to ask. Anyway, he is really shy and apparently he kept trying to and got nervous. Said everytime he saw me he got butterflies in his stomach. Now, maybe I should have initiated something but like I said I have been out of this for a while. My friend even told him I was older and had kids and he said he didn't care. To cut a long story short- he had to leave this building to go work at another building and won't be back for 9 weeks and he never worked up the nerve to ask me out. Well, I would like to go out with him. Should I say something to the mutual friend who would probably be able to let him know, or should I adopt the attitude that he knows where to find me and if he really wants to ask me out he can or should I just wait the 9 weeks until he gets back.
Thanks

oh well, the best made plans sometimes go awry. Cute Guys friend hasn't called me so I can't get him to make Cute Guy call me. I guess I will be waiting 8 more weeks because I am fresh out of ideas. I don't even think his friend works in my buiding anymore because he wasn't here today.
Sucks!!!
What?
I would let him do the leg work. He knows where you are at!!! Men are hunters by nature other posters may argue with me but I would wait it out. I know it is hard but believe me when they want something, "Huge screen flat TV, football tickets, watching the super bowl, going hunting, fishing, playing poker, hiking" They get these things, that is why they build and buyout corporations. That is why they wrestle, and are in sports where there is always a winner or a loser...it is a game. It is just the way they are made.
I also have tried to talk myself into thinkging that "N" is too shy to say anything to me. He's to shy to make the first move. He has had four girlfriends...obviously he isn't that shy!!! Men will find away it may take them awhile but they will hunt you down if they truly want you!

Thanks for the advice. Cute guys friend no longer works in my building and I don't have his phone number. The security guard doesn't know which building cute guy is working in for the next few weeks. Anyway, if he really wanted to ask me out he does know where I work. Even though if the shoe was on the other foot I don't know if I would have the balls to go back and ask someone out if I wasn't sure if they were going to say yes- so I am trying to be understanding of that. Anyway, I will give him umpteen opportunities to ask me out when he comes back to this building and HE BETTER COME BACK TO MY BUILDING.
I have run out of ideas anyway.
I would keep digging!
