How Specific Should I Be?

I took a chance and sent an icebreaker to a guy I thought was really cute, which is quite rare for me. He messaged back a few days later. So my question is, how specific does anyone get in their initial emails? I've met a few guys but generally I get better results if I don't say too much at first. What does anyone else talk about? I find the messaging thing hard because there's little feedback coming from the other person. It's much easier in person. Anyway, I think I'd really like to meet this guy, maybe. I don't want to blow it. Thanks!

golightly2004...

Since it's easier for you to be "more specific in person"...Pianoguy suggests that you keep a lot of the personal stuff...including past b/f's, husbands, or relationships...to yourself?

If there's chemistry between two people who've been together for several dates, then you'll probably find it easier to 'slowly pull back the curtain' and reveal more about yourself?

After all...THE LAST THING you want to do is scare us away by telling too much too soon!

I'm not sure what you mean by how specific.

Yes, don't lie but there are certain things that don't need to be discussed until the two of you know each other better and have established a relationship
