I need a date so so bad!!!!! help please

I haven't been on a date in 7 months except for 2 really horrible dates that just don't even count. I couldn't usually find someone decent to go out with on match.com back in the city, but now that I live in the armpit of north carolina, match.com has been USELESS (I never see one person I want to ask out). Please someone help me, I am going nuts, all I want is a stupid date with a cool, quirky, cute (to me), EDUCATED guy who has never been married and has no kids. that's all I want, just a date to make me feel like I am doing something. I am so desperate. Please someone tell me how I can get one, and fast. I am at the point that I WILL ask a stranger out, I just need some guidance.

Yeap, I understand. I moved there from a large east coast city where I'd lived in the center, and didn't even need a car. I took my beat up, ancient car with me and for the first time in my life worried if it was going to die on me. Before, if that happened, I just called a tow truck and took the bus home. ;-)
Don't even think about age. I was in my mid-thirties when I lived there. That's what I meant, I still got asked out, even by some cute puppies.
Let's see, how can you meet the medical staff (lots of people go to med school later, so you are the perfect age!). We had a house staff happy hour every month (this was UNC). It was posted on the bulletin boards around the hospital, in a local bar, which changed each month. Anyone was welcome. House staff is residents and fellows, so those are the guys that have already graduated, and are a little bit older.
It's always a great idea to hang out in the medical library. Go on in there and keep your eyes peeled. We all ended up LIVING there when we weren't in the hospital. And also, go sit outside near the hospital cafeteria (Duke or UNC), the courtyards are filled to the brim with brainy men!
Only problem with med students is that many get married young so they have someone to cook and clean for them while they go through living heck. So look for the wedding ring before approaching.
Go on, get ye to the med library, go now!!!!

You are very outgoing. I am sure that a guy will come along soon. You're just be having a dry spell.
You are a lot braver than I am. I don't have a date either. Hmm.. Oh well. Anyways. I tried to ask a guy out once. But the last guy that I asked out (who I thought also liked me)was 11 years older than me. He is 32 and I am 21. Also he had a kid, but not married. He said he only liked me as a really good friend... He was in my psychology class, he was really sweet I wasn't going to ask him out but my friends swore to me that he was shy and wouldn't do it himself. So I just embarrassed myself really bad. I am not doing that again. *sigh* Though I keep thinking there is this guy I wish that I could date. He is this guy at my doctors office that I think is very cute.
I'm shutting up now.
