Would you think anything of this? You were talking on IM for about 3 months with a guy, you've also been to his place a few times, and previously when you were chatting on IM, he always would say goodnight or bye at the end of the night. Last night he told me he was a bit on the tired side but he did chat quite a bit anyway. What's annoying me is that when I told him goodnight, he never said anything back. I even waited in case he was busy or chatting with somebody else and still nothing. So I just said bye and logged off. It's bothering me and I'm tempted to email and ask him why he did that but I don't want to seem too obsessive or over-analyzing things as I usually do.
Think I'm putting too much into this?

He was either talking to somebody else or went to lie down on the sofa and fell asleep. He's your buddy, not your boyfriend so let the issue rest.

Maybe he got booted off. Does he have dial-up? An old computer? A couple of people I know are suddenly "logged off" right in the middle of a convo. They have dial-up.

Perhaps he was so tired he didn't even realize he didn't say bye.
