Sort of a rhetorical question, but not completely. Is it love --

when you feel so glad and lucky to have met him (even though things haven't worked out)

when he's one of the (very) few major choices in your life you haven't immediately second-guessed

when you want to tell everyone you know about him

when you want to tell strangers on discussion boards about him

when you feel more free with him than by yourself

when you feel more free just because you've known him

when you have only known him for a few months (and it might just be the honeymoon period)

when you believe in him more than you believe in anyone else (because he's more true to himself than anyone else you know)

when you want him to march to the beat of his own drum (even if that means he may not be marching with you)

when you like yourself better when you are with him (because you are not so darned obsessive-compulsive)

when you like yourself better after knowing him (because, really, he's right that you are an amazing person)

when you like the world better when you are with him (because you see the world through the eyes of someone who thinks it's so interesting)

when you like life better when you are with him (because you are with someone who is so excited about it all)

when you think that you'll be happy when he starts dating someone else, even if you'll be so sad for yourself (because it's more important that he's happy than that he's happy with you)

when you wonder whether he can really be as great as you think he is

when you wonder whether you should go see a psychiatrist (because your brain has turned to mush)

when you know what it means to say that your heart hurt (even though you've never had a heart attack or heartburn)

when your heart melts (sappy expression that used to make you roll your eyes) and you feel so honored when he tells you something personal to him

when you can read "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning" to him without feeling like a dork or a sap.

when you don't immediately walk out of the restaurant even though he says that you are being too harsh on Bush

when you think that having known him makes you more likely to fall in love again (because your first taste of it made you feel so good)

when he makes you want to exercise and dress better (even though you are still too lazy to really do it)

Even if it's not "love" that winds up with two people being together in the romantic sense forever it certainly sounds like love to me. It's great when two people want to help each other be the best each can be VS trying to control the other or have the other complete them.
