hey guys:

I was just wondering if there was a main difference between "being in love" with someone vs. loving someone aka "I love him", in context? I have talked about this with my friends before, and there still seems to be some confusion. How can one best understand how they they feel between both?

please help clear this up :)

cheers!

I think "being in love" is when you think about someone on regular basis during the course of a day, thinking about that person gives you the "warm and fuzzy" feeling and you always look forward to spending time with the person or speaking to them.

Loving someone on the other hand, I think is when you care about someone deeply and would do anything for them. For example, I love my family members, my ex-bf whom I broke up with 2 years ago (who has become a great friend), certain close friends...you "love" them but there is no "warm and fuzzy" feeling or feeling of overwhelming happiness when you see/speak to them.

This is my opinion on it...

Yeah...I feel the same.
Being "in love" has a romantic component to it(ofcourse,in addition to a lot other components), whereas "loving" someone need not/does not have a romantic component.

Love is a noun (you "love" the person). Loving is a verb (that's in the doing). "In Love" is a feeling.
