Meet the parents

Hi,

I just started a serious relationship with a guy (3 months).

He asked me to meet his parents (lived in different city) at the end of this month, which is 2 weeks from now.

I am pretty comfortable to meet his parents. Since I will stay there for three days, I'm thinking to bring something for them.

Is that too weird? if not what should I bring?

Any suggestion?

You should definitely bring something. What about flowers? And maybe some food/candy? If you know they like something, bring it. Or is there something your home state is famous for? A nice bottle of wine would be appropriate if you know you're eating at their house at some point.

Bringing something will show that you care. Either way, you are staying for 3 days so it is polite to bring something as a thank you.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciated that.

My bf and I living in DC now..

Perhaps I will bring a bottle of wine or candy. I can't bring them flowers, because it will take about 12 hours to get there..

Any other suggestion?

I would not bring wine, unless you are SURE they drink wine, and your bf can give you *specific* advice about what they like. You don't want to bring something too sophisticated to parents who are unsophisticated about wine, or vice versa.

I would go with a nice little something for their house, from a store like L'Occitane or something similiar (like some potpourri, guest soaps or a nice candle or two). Have the store wrap it up nicely and there you go.

umh, i think since you're going to stay there.. i'd think bringing them some nice gifts

would be nice. i'm thinking about some home-cooked food, for the family dinner.

Or, if u dun cook (i dun cook either), i'd get some wines or flowers or perhaps some

nice a plate of food-fingers..

gd luck =>
