Need advise for boyfriends bithday

I am not sure if I am on the right board or not, but thought I would try anyhow.

My boyfriend's birthday is this Friday. We are in a somewhat long distance relationship. We live about 1 hour and 45 minutes from each other. We mostly just visit on weekends.

He is driving up here (which I feel bad that he has to spend time driving on his special day, but he is off of work that day and I have to work until 3pm, so it will give us more time together if he comes up here). I want to do something special, but I don't know what. I have the place for dinner reserved, but that is about it.

I was thinking of maybe decorating my house and surprizing him with birthday decorations. My only set back on that is that we will probably only spend about an hour at my place. We are strong Christians and tend to don't stay alone in our perspective homes because our attraction to each other is very strong right now, so anything we can do to ward off temptation we do.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Especially the guys? He doesn't have any family in town so its not like I can plan a surprize party. According to him its been a while since he has really celebrated his birthday. By the way, I live AZ so outdoor activities is pretty much out of the question unless done after 7:30 PM. The resturant that we are going to is across the street from a nice lake/park, so I thought that we could just walk across the street and spend time there (providing it is still not too warm out).

Thanks for any suggestions that you may have.

Is there a concert or play or something else fun and special going on , or a ball game he'd enjoy?

Or else a great present you know he'd like that he's been talking out. Do something thoughtful that you know he'll really enjoy.
