I’m not sure where to put this question, so I’ve put this in several boards…I am totally lost –been out of the dating game for years after divorce.

First figure out what his hours at the deli are, then figure out what is the quietest, least busy time to visit the deli and buy your deli meats then. Have you figured out whether this guy is married or has a girlfriend? If not, that is the next step because he may just be being friendly. All you have to say is, "What does your family think about your tattoos?". If he is married he will mention this, everyone gets tripped up when you ask about "family".

If he is single you have nothing to lose by asking him to have coffee with you after his shift is over. It becomes a yes or no question.

Try asking him for coffee using the excuse that you're looking to get another tattoo and would like his advice. That may be the easiest way to get things going without making it a "date."

I would hand him a note. What have you got to lose? At least you'll know and I think he'll be flattered.

Be bold. Go for it!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, by the way. That's a real shame, but I'm sure she is grateful to have you by her side during this tough time.
