When someone says "oh, he/she does not have a personality", what does it mean?

I thought everyone has A personality. But when I hear this statement, it makes me wonder what "no" personality means?

They're probably defining personality in a way that means they have traits that are socially appealing. Of course, there are also those personalities that we'd rather NOT know because they have bad attitudes, etc. If someone's saying someone has "no personality" it's probably because they don't have the traits that are generally defined as necessary for social interaction in an appealing way.

To me it means no sense of humor and no participation in communal discussions.

I had an acquaintance who constantly said "he / she has no personality". If the person wasn't interested in the things she was interested in, wasn't incredibly funny, witty and good looking, to her they had 'no personality'. I stopped hanging out with her because she was very judgemental and high maintenance.

Thanks everyone. Yes, now it is making sense..

Looks like everyone has a different definition based on qualities they value.
